Capstone Experience

Credits: 21

[Under each option, each project must be designated as Capstone (CMB) or Capstone (DHT)]

SBMS8001 Capstone Project (output in form of capstone report);
or

SBMS8002 Industry Internship (output in form of experiential learning report that include weekly learning logs and a reflective essay). For claiming a particular stream, relevance of the internship to the stream must be confirmed by the programme co-directors prior to the start of the internship.

Innovator Immersion Programme

Full-time students will automatically enrol in a compulsory non-credit-bearing Innovator Immersion Programme, coursewhich harnesses the non-teaching hours during weekdays to provide enhanced experiential learning activities.

The non-credit bearing Innovator Immersion Programme provides full-time students a valuable opportunity to make the most of their daytime hours without lectures by engaging in enriching experiential learning activities. Part-time students interested in enrolling in the Innovator Immersion Programme are required to remit an additional fee, which represents the difference between the part-time and full-time composition fees, and part-time candidates need to ensure that they will be able to get sufficient time off from their employers to attend the Programme.

This year-long non-credit-bearing course consists of a structured series of experiential learning activities support a student’s career development as a biomedical innovator and entrepreneur. These activities complement other courses in this Master of Biomedical Innovation programme. The immersion programme consists of several structured experimental learning components that include hands-on laboratory skill training, deep tech entrepreneurship launcher, industry engagement, and innovation bootcamp.
